May 2009 Update (from Village Newsletter)

Post-Christmas Lunch—this was held on 15th February at Cross Villa, Templeton, and fourteen members had a very enjoyable, rather belated, post-Christmas lunch.

On 3rd March we were treated to another very interesting and entertaining talk by Helen Williams, Ambassador for the

Christian charity ‘Send a Cow’.  Helen first visited exactly twelve months ago, when, unfortunately, more than half of our members were either away or too unwell to attend.

Helen was happy to come back and this time we all welcomed her.  At the end of the meeting a collection of £23 was made to send to the RAF Association in memory of Vera Hendry, who was a much loved member of the branch.

On March 25th (Lady day) we welcomed a full member, Anne Mustoe, who was

enrolled by Rev’d Sarah Geach during the Eucharist at St Mary’s Begelly at 10am.

On May 5th the speakers are Majors Denise and Martyn Clements who are coming to talk about the work of the Salvation Army.

The Deanery Mothers’ Union Festival is at St Issells on May 11th.
